Transcend Playground Safety

Transcend Playground Safety is a suite of Ofqual regulated vocational qualifications that sit in sector subject area 8.1 Sport, Leisure, and Recreation.

This suite is uniquely designed to facilitate a professional development pathway for those who wish to fulfil the occupational role of an inspector in this context. It also offers those operating in playground and activity facility design, installation and maintenance roles or wider health and safety remits to enhance their scope of professional competence.

The qualifications in this suite include:

• Transcend Level 1 Award in the Legal Duty to Inspect Playgrounds and Activity Facilities
• Transcend Level 2 Award in the Routine Visual Inspection of Playgrounds and Activity Facilities
• Transcend Level 3 Award in the Operational Inspection of Playgrounds and Activity Facilities
• Transcend Level 5 Certificate Maintaining Safety Standards in the Design Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Playgrounds
• Transcend Level 5 Certificate Maintaining Safety Standards in the Design Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Activity Facilities
• Transcend Level 5 Diploma Maintaining Safety Standards in the Design Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Playgrounds and Activity Facilities

This qualification suite was developed with health and safety specialist RYNAT as the technical collaborator. It is validated through consultation with inspectors, industry employers, education providers and equality experts.
