Transcend Level 4 Diploma in Learning, Development and Social Empowerment is integral to a pioneering and progressive suite of Ofqual regulated qualifications that sit in sector subject area 14.1 Foundations for learning and life.

This qualification is exclusively developed for the children in care aged 16+ enrolled onto the First Star Scholars UK long term university preparation programme. First Star proudly refer to their children as Scholars.

The aim is to enable the scholars to achieve higher education and employment goals. In attending for this qualification scholars are encouraged to be vocal and socially active and will participate in a synoptic social action intervention and impact analysis. Successful scholars will be able to contribute to society at large through social empowerment techniques from the whole person perspective.

The objective is to provide a benefit to scholars by giving them the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful in their higher education and employment aspirations. Successful learners will develop the ability to influence through social empowerment techniques. Whilst attending the qualification scholars will develop knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with:

• Personal development and impact analysis
• Academic progress and impact analysis
• Creative engagement and impact analysis
• Adventure challenge and impact analysis
• Social action intervention and impact analysis

The qualification is exclusive to the First Star Scholars through St Mary’s University, Twickenham London and Winchester University.
