Transcend Level 2 Award in Urban Acts

The Transcend Level 2 Award in Urban Acts [Drama] sits within a pioneering and progressive suite of Ofqual regulated qualifications. The suite sits in sector 9.1 Performing Arts and is designed to progressively develop learner’s drama performance and production skills in an urban context.   

The aim of this qualification is to empower learners to produce a performance in a selected urban drama style. The objective is to provide a benefit to learners by supporting an education pathway in performing arts. Learners will: 

• be able to analyse the purpose and elements of drama historically and in the 21-century urban context   
• be able to analyse the meaning of drama in society historically and in the 21-century urban context   
• be able to analyse the characteristics of urban drama styles and produce a performance in selected style   
• be able to analyse personal growth through the production of a performance in selected urban drama style   

The qualification delivery and assessment activities can be embedded into the drama strand of national curriculum programmes for literacy or offered as a value-added alternative.  

This qualification suite is developed with dance and drama specialists CREATIVE MINDS as the technical collaborators. It was validated through consultation with Omnia Foundation a revolutionary independent school. 

The suite is available to education providers that are compliant with the Transcend Centre Recognition and Supplementary Qualification Conditions.
