Transcend First Star Scholars Suite

Transcend First Star Scholars is pioneering and progressive suite of Ofqual regulated qualifications that sit in sector subject area 14.1 Foundations for learning and life.

This suite is exclusively developed for the children in care enrolled onto the First Star Scholars UK long term university preparation programme. The qualification in the suite are:

• Transcend Level 3 Diploma in Learning, Development and Social Cohesion
• Transcend Level 4 Diploma in Learning, Development and Social Empowerment

First Star Scholars UK is a registered charity in England established to empower children in care to meet their potential.  

First Star Scholars UK is a registered charity in England established to empower children in care to meet their potential. The First Star Scholars Programme is the UK’s ONLY long-term university preparatory programme for Looked-after Children.

They enrol Looked After Children from 14+ who are commencing their GCSEs onto the programme. They then engage and empower the children though monthly campus-based sessions and residential summer schools  up to the age of eighteen. This includes academic support alongside a wider curriculum of life-skills.

This qualifications is this suite are aligned to the First Star Scholars UK Programme. The programme aim is to prepare the scholars  to seriously consider higher education as an option for them. However, any child that selects employment over higher education is well prepared due to the wealth of employability skills also gained.

The qualification suite is exclusive to the First Star Scholars through St Mary’s University, Twickenham London and Winchester University.
