Transcend Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention, Mitigation and Management is an Ofqual regulated vocationally related qualification that sits in sector subject area 1.3 Health and social care. It is uniquely designed to be completed in the context of a specialist pathway that represents the learner’s workplace environment.  

The School and Child Care Environment pathway is most relevant to head teachers, deputy heads, coordinators, teachers, teaching assistants, nursey managers, child carers, kitchen staff, playground supervisors, grounds staff, sport and physical activity coaches and music teachers. 

School and childcare providers may wish to use this as a high-value development opportunity for their workforce to ensure duty of care through infection control.  

The aim is to enable learners to develop knowledge and skills to control fatal infectious diseases in the context of their own role and scope of practice in the school or childcare facility where they operate. They will also develop the skills prevent, mitigate the spread, and manage breakouts of the most common infectious diseases found in school and childcare settings.  

Successful learners will receive a certificate that evidences the achievement of this qualification in the context of this pathway as shown:

The qualification was developed with health and safety education specialists RYNAT and INSPIRATUS as the technical collaborators. This pathway was validated through consultation with school specialists SPORTIVITY Consultants and B11 Education. 

This qualification pathway is available to education providers that comply with the Transcend Centre Recognition and Supplementary Qualification Pathway Conditions.
