Transcend Entry Level 3 Award in Urban Shapes

The Transcend Entry Level 3 Award in Urban Shapes [Dance] sits within a pioneering and progressive suite of Ofqual regulated qualifications. The suite sits in sector 9.1 Performing Arts. The intent is to enable the progressive development of learners’ performance and choreography skills in an urban context.   

The aim of this qualification is to engage learners to develop urban dance movement techniques. The objective is to provide a benefit to learners by supporting an education pathway in performing arts. Learners will: 

• be able to recognise the purpose of dance  
• be able to recognise the benefits of urban dance in society 
• be able to recognise urban dance genres and develop urban dance movement techniques   
• be able to recognise personal growth through development of urban dance movement techniques  

The qualification delivery and assessment programme can be embedded into the creative strand of national curriculum for physical education programmes or offered as an innovative alternative. 

This qualification is developed with dance and drama specialists CREATIVE MINDS as the technical collaborators. It was validated in consultation with Omnia Foundation, a revolutionary independent school. 

This qualification is available to any education provider that complies with the Transcend Centre Recognition and Supplementary Qualification Conditions.
